Back in 2006-ish, I had just started out my clothing customisation hustle & had the opportunity to deliver custom workshops in various schools across East London. I remember that feeling of finding something I not only enjoyed doing myself, but loved to share / teach the vibes too.

Fast fwd to today & im back in East, linking up with Newham Libraries to deliver a series of t-shirt workshops across 10 libraries for their Summer Reading Challenge 2022, inspired by this year’s theme ‘Gadgeteers’.…

DIVERSITEES WORKSHOP – THE REMAKERY / BRIXTON

PUSH IT NEVER STOP, T-SHIRT, PINS WORKSHOP 1

My first ‘Custom Vibes’ session kicked off at The Remakery, Brixton – Big up the young peeps who came and got stuck in, even though it was their first time doing something creative beyond their comfort zones, was nice to see the vibes pick up throughout the session. There’s something about going back to basics, sharing that feeling & process of when I first customised a tee back in 2005-ish and getting that nice feeling like ‘Rah, I made that shiz’ what else can I do…?…

Got a new studio spot in the lovely Old Guardian building on Farringdon Road, thanks to Insert Name Here, a pop-up design and making facility, with open access workshops and studios.

PINS WORKSHOP – CHARLTON SCHOOL

Charlton School…I came…I saw young people get mad creative…I conquered in my own special way!

After completing artwork on a variety surface’s including t-shirts, caps, spray cans, and canvases, we wrapped up the 6 weeks with a final ‘Olympics’ inspired canvas designed entirely by the young people…which was random to say the least, but hey, they had fun and that’s what it’s all about…

It’s always a pleasure interacting with such diverse personalities and seeing individuals come out their shell and expose their artistic talent through their artwork…the best part though was the jokes, too many funny characters/moments to mention…jokes n creativeness is a healthy mix!…
