HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVID HAMMONS

David Hammons, Snowballs

“Doing things in the street is more powerful than art I think. Because art has gotten so…I don’t know what the fuck art is about now. It doesn’t do anything, like Malcolm X said, it’s like Novocaine. #PINSDOODLES – NEW YORK

NEW YORK SKETCH PINS ARTIST

So over the past two months or so i’ve had the crazy urge to sketch moments as oppose to taking pictures, although I still actively do that too, it’s just being able to sketch anywhere there and then, biro to hand, sketchbook ready, feels super organic and totally in flow with my whole vibe of connecting and engaging through my art…plus as my normal canvas work is a tad more polished and controlled, sketching allowed me to free up a bit and get a bit more loose with it.…

NEW YORK NYC PINS ARTIST

Howdy! Went to NYC for a month cos London was getting a tad boring, needed some fresh juices to get flowing again, and of course NY never fails to provide the juice…

LACY MARILYN & FRIENDS – SOLO EXHIBITION AT GRAMERCY PARK STUDIOS

pins artist lacy marilyn monroe gramercy park studios london exhibition

My gift to you this Valentines (as I have love for you) is an invite to a solo exhibition of fresh art works and the chance to meet Lacy Marilyn in the flesh next week…she’s literally a work of art, literally…

This is all possible thanks to the lovely team at Gramercy Park Studios, with whom i’ve shown works with before, and only recently decided to to put on a mini-show for you, a chance to connect & engage in a great, intimate space in a great Central London location…

I’m definitely getting the bug of showing in non-gallery venues now, as all that really matters is a diverse group of people get to see the works instead of the same ‘ol arty lot, plus alternate venues tend to have way more character too, which is nice…

Soooo, this will be a one day evening event only and RSVP essential to: pins.show@gmail.com
